Blueberry Pie Protein-Power Smoothie

Beets lend it a deep-purple color, plus iron and antioxidants. If you don’t have cooked beets on hand, you can skip them—the smoothie’s flavor won’t suffer.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain, fat-free yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups skim milk
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup cooked diced beets
- 1/3 cup quick oats
- 1/4 cup (4 scoops) unflavored or vanilla whey protein
- 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds
- 2 Tbs. blueberry preserves
Preparation
Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.
